In this case study, I will share my journey in designing a restaurant reservation app for a chain of high-end restaurants. The objective was to create an app that made it effortless for customers to view menus, book tables, and manage their reservations.
My focus throughout the design process was to craft a user-friendly interface that would enhance the dining experience and streamline the reservation process.

Researching user behaviours
The project began with an in-depth analysis of user behaviours related to dining out and reservation management. I conducted focus groups and user interviews to understand their preferences and pain points when booking tables.
Designing an interactive menu
One of the unique aspects of this project was designing an interactive menu feature. This allowed customers to browse the restaurant’s offerings in a visually appealing way, complete with detailed descriptions and images of dishes.
Optimising reservation management
Another key element was optimising the reservation management system. I created a streamlined booking process with features like real-time table availability, booking modifications, and automated reminders to enhance the user experience.
Outcome
The finished restaurant reservation app became a user-friendly and visually appealing tool that greatly improved customer satisfaction.
Patrons could easily view menus, make reservations, and manage their bookings seamlessly, contributing to a smoother and more enjoyable dining experience.
Consequently, the restaurants saw an increase in reservations and customer retention, with the app playing a crucial role in their overall service delivery.
